Laggansally Lodge provides luxurious, spacious and comfortable self catering accommodation in Dumfries and Galloway. Its peaceful rural location between Portpatrick and Stranraer provides a perfect getaway for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life or for those just wanting to get out and about in the Scottish countryside. This is an ideal base for walking, birdwatching, cycling, golfing or just relaxing - you choose the pace of your holiday - see our what to see and do page for ideas.
All local amenities are just over 5 miles away in Stranraer, with Morrisons, Tesco and Lidl for groceries. There is also an excellent village shop and church in nearby Leswalt. We have a wealth of local knowledge to share with you, if you wish - just ask!

Approach the lodge via private access through its own native woodland. Laggansally nestles in its own natural hollow surrounded by farmland, beside its own naturalised pond with island and standing stones.
The bungalow was recently built (2009) to a very high specification and is fully accessible to wheelchair users, including a ramp up to the door. The interior features the finest decor with oak finishings, furniture and flooring with 100% wool rugs. The oil central heating is fully controllable, as is the new generation Rayburn in the kitchen. Logs are provided for the wood burning stove so whatever the season, your comfort is assured. Your expectations will be exceeded as we have endeavoured to anticipate your every need - truly a home away from home! Just sit and watch the ever-changing vistas in rural attractive surroundings with privacy assured.

Situated 500 yards from the main farmhouse, you are likely to notice some of our livestock. We have a wide range of interesting free range poultry, some of which like to explore across the field. At the farm steading we have a selection of hens, ducks, turkeys and geese. The farm runs suckler cows for beef together with sheep.

Nature lovers will be interested to hear that major consideration is given to local wildlife and every effort is made to give the countryside a better chance to thrive without the interference of herbicides and high nitrogen fertilizers. Generous wildlife corridors, planted under the Rural Stewardship Scheme, allow a greater of diversification of flora and fauna, including numerous species of birds and bats. On approach to the lodge is a sand martin face, sponsored by Scottish Natural Heritage - housing welcome summer visitors from Africa. We also have 3 wildlife ponds within 600 yards of the lodge.
Laggansally Lodge is non-smoking. We can accept one or two small well behaved dogs - please ask. A high-chair and cot / playpen is also available for your use if required.
